Edgetech 3100 Portable System
 
The 3100 is EdgeTech’s portable version of their highly successful subbottom profiler product line. The system utilizes EdgeTech’s Full Spectrum CHIRP technology which provides higher resolution imagery of the sub-bottom structure and greater penetration.
 
The 3100 is ideally suited for use in rivers, lakes, ponds and shallow water ocean applications up to 300m max depth. The system was designed for customers that require a portable system that can be used from smaller boats while not wanting to sacrifice image quality.
 
A 3100 system comes with a choice of two towfish; either the SB-424 or SB-216S. These towfish operate at different frequency ranges and selection between the two depends on the type of application. The 424 operates at 4-24 kHz and will provide slightly higher resolution but less penetration. The 216S operates at 2-16 kHz and provides slightly less resolution but greater penetration. 
 
 
 
 
Edgetech 3200 High Penetration
 
The EdgeTech 3200 Sub-bottom Profiling System is a wideband Frequency Modulated (FM) sub-bottom profiler utilizing EdgeTech’s proprietary Full Spectrum CHIRP technology. The 3200 generates high resolution images of the sub-bottom stratigraphy in oceans, lakes, and rivers and provides penetration of up to 200m. 
The 3200 comes available with a choice of three stable, low drag towfish that operate at different frequencies and can be used at depths of up to 300m. The selection of towfish depends on the sub-bottom characteristics as well as the resolution and penetration requirements.
  
 
 
 
 
EdgeTech Hull Mount Sub Bottom Profiler
 
EdgeTech’s 3300-HM Hull Mount System, the world’s most advanced sub-bottom profiling system, is available in a convenient hull-mounted configuration.
 
Engineered with EdgeTech’s proprietary, Full Spectrum chirp technology, it takes sub bottom imaging to the next level. The 3300-HM System consistently delivers higher resolution reflection profiles of the seabed with optimum detail of sub-bottom stratigraphy.
 
The 3300-HM Hull Mount sub-bottom profiler can operate in up to 8,000 meters of water with penetration up to 80 meters in soft clay. Various array designs are available to suit ship design and specific applications. The 3300 features industry standard inputs for sensor data and standard output formats for interfacing to 3rd Party data processing programs.

Trictech SeaKing Parametric Sub Bottom Profiler (SBP)
 
If you need to obtain a clear picture of what lies below the seabed, look no further than the SeaKing Parametric SBP from Tritech. Sub-bottom profiling is now possible from this compact, low power unit, ideal for ROV and AUV use.
An innovative multi-element composite transducer array enables the echosounder to emit very low frequencies whilst minimising the size of the overall unit. Producing a 20kHz pulse, the system is capable of penetrating the seabed and highlighting structural differences that are hidden from view to conventional echosounders.
 
As with all SeaKing sensors, it is possible to integrate the parametric subbottom profiler in the ArcNet network, which enables the data to be displayed and logged on the SeaNet SCU.
 
The display allows the operator to view the raw 200kHz seabed profile, as well as the 20kHz subbottom layers produced by the parametric pulse.
 
 
 
 
AAE Energy Sources, CSP Units
 
To accommodate industry demands for power output, Applied Acoustics manufactures a range of CSP units that provide the energy to the sound source, a Boomer or Sparker, deployed at sea. Each compact design CSP Energy Source converts mains voltage to high voltage to energise the sound source and conforms to EU specifications for electro-magnetic compatibility.

AAE Seismic Sound Source - Boomer Plate AA200/201
 
The two boomer plates, the AA200 and AA300, produce a sharp, repeatable "industry standard" single pulse. Both models are field proven and differ in detail specification.
 
The Model AA200 is the ‘small format’ transducer which can be towed on either the CAT100 or CAT200 surface tow vehicles. It is ideal for inshore surveys for high resolution sediment analysis with the CSP-L energy source or as a higher penetration device with the CSP300-P and CSP-D models.
 
The Model AA300 is designed for higher power applications and has the extra advantage of use as a variable frequency boomer when used with the CSP-D range of energy sources.This allows wide ranging pulse widths not formerly available.The lengthening of the pulse width ensures even greater penetration whilst maintaining a high quality single pulse.

AAE - Squid 501 Sparker
 
The Squid 501 Sparker is a compact sound source affixed to a high voltage cable.  It is used to obtain better penetration of seabed profiles when geological conditions are difficult.
 
The Squid 501 Sparker operates well at 200-600 Joules and can be fitted with different electrode clusters for a variety of operational requirements.

AAE - Squid 2000 Sparker

The Squid 2000 is intended for high resolution applications with low electrical power input and high penetration. It is stable under tow and can be easily adjusted for array depth for the best possible pulse shape.

AAE - Dura-Spark

The Dura-Spark has been designed to provide a stable, repeatable sound source for sub-bottom geophysical surveys.  The long life, durable electrodes produce a consistent pulse signature and keep operational maintenance to a minimum. This provides increased survey efficiency and equipment reliability as the sparker tips rarely need replacement.
 
The Dura-Spark is based on the CAT300 catamaran, providing a stable platform whilst under tow.  The catamaran has robust solid floatation and is easily deployed from all survey vessels.
 
The Dura-Spark consists of 3 arrays or 5 arrays of 80 tips allowing the operator to tune the source from the vessel to its application. This flexibility, together with selectable source depth, allows the sound source to be used in both shallow and deep waters.
 
The typical operational bandwidth of the Dura-Spark is 300Hz to 1.2kHz. When coupled with the CSP-N  Seismic Power Supply the system offers  2000J/s peak discharge rate, as well as industry leading design and safety standards.

AAE - Delta Sparker

The Delta Sparker is currently the most powerful sparker available in the range and is intended for deeper penetration sub-bottom profiling. Stable under tow, the frame is buoyed and is easily deployed. The design incorporates a simple adjustment for optimum array depth, to achieve the best possible pulse shape.
 
As a multi-tip sparker arrary, the Delta can also be used in UHR multi-channel seismic surveys utilising 24 or 48 channel streamers such as during geohazard assessment, construction projects or shallow target 2D exploration.
 
To make transportation easier, the frame of the Delta Sparker can be split into two shorter lengths.

AAE S-BOOM System
 
The S-Boom system is a high power hi-resolution repeatable sound source and when deployed with a CSP-S1250, the system can be operated at fast repetition rates.
The transmitted energy is focused by the array geometry to improve the directivity and beam pattern giving an improvement over traditional seismic sound sources.
 
Due to the frequency of operation and transmitted power levels the system can be used with both single and multi-channel streamer hydrophone arrays for high resolution geological surveys for construction, mapping, research and installation.
